Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Winter Fun!

What a fun week this has been, but I have to say I am exhausted!  My two boys have been running on pure adrenaline since school let out for Winter Break last Friday.  It's about time for them to crash - just in time for a quiet New Year!  Here in the Chicago area, we had a beautiful white Christmas which had me thinking "snowflakes".  That inspired me to make this card using the Stampendous Cling Jumbo Snowflake Trio.

I first applied Ranger Distress Ink in Dusty Concord to a panel of white card stock.  Then I stamped the two smallest snowflakes using VersaMark ink and heat set Detail Silver Embossing Powder by Stampendous.  I made my own silver card stock to mat the panel by just applying VersaMark around the outer edges of a panel of card stock, sprinkling on Detail Silver Embossing Powder and heat setting it.  Wrapped around and tied a length of sheer silver ribbon and my card was done.  My niece loves purple and she is a December baby, so this card was perfect for her birthday last week.

Well friends, it's time for me to get busy.  Our house is a disaster zone - it looks like the North Pole exploded in our family room.

Hoppin' with Stampendous and Clearsnap

What a fun week this has been!  I have LOVED using Clearsnap products!  I have fallen head over heels for the Color Box Petal Point Fluid Chalk Inkpads.  They include a beautiful palette of colors and are so easy to use.  On the card that I'm sharing today, I used the inks to color my image using a water brush.   This adorable Stampendous image is Cling Jumbo Penguin Snow.  Aren't they cute????  And I love these snowflakes!  So fun!

This card will soon be headed to my friend, Carol.  She's one of the teachers at the preschool with me and she just so happens to teach the Penguin Class!  So, I know she'll love this card!

Now it's time for you to see what other Stampendous and Clearsnap inspiration we have to share with you today.  Here's a list of  blog stops...

Clearsnap and Stampendous Fun!

This week the Stampendous Design Team is collaborating with Clearsnap to share some great products and ideas with you.

All of the sudden I realized this afternoon that Christmas is 2 weeks away.  I am NOT ready!  Tomorrow I'm going out to try to finish most of my shopping and I'm hoping to get the rest of our decorations out.  Next week I'll worry about getting started on my baking.

In the meantime, I thought I would make my gift tags.  I have always loved the look of red on kraft, and this Cling Sweater Square stamp by Stampendous was begging to be made into a gift tag!  This was so fast and easy to make - I had a pile of them ready to go in no time!  The Color Box Petal Point Fluid Chalk Ink has a beautiful palette, has great coverage on kraft card stock and is easy to use.

To finish the tag, I added a length of red grosgrain ribbon  that is tied off with a piece of hemp cord.  Quick and easy!  My kind of project!

Stop by the Stampendous blog to see who else has inspiration to share with you today and be sure to visit again tomorrow when I'll have another project to share with you.

Shine Brightly

I'm back again today with another Inspirational Christmas card featuring Stampendous products.  Today's cards used the super sweet Shepherd Star stamp set. While I was making this card, I realized that I didn't have any gold card stock.....so, I made my own!  I inked the edges of a piece of card stock with VersaMark ink and sprinkled on Detail Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it. Super easy!  I love the sentiment that is included with this set, to highlight it a bit, I stamped the star in gold behind the sentiment.

All of the supplies used to make this card are available at Michaels.

Be sure the check out the Stampendous blog this week to see what other Inspirational Christmas ideas the design team has to share with you.

Away in a Manger

This week the Stampendous design teams are sharing Inspirational Christmas ideas.  Today I have a card I made using supplies that are available at Michaels.  This beautiful set is Nativity Carol by Stampendous.  I stamped the musical score with Tsukineko London Fog ink and then stamped the Nativity scene with VersaMark ink and embossed with Sapphire PEARLustre Embossing Powder.  The star was embossed with Detail Gold Embossing Powder.

I have to say I really love the way this card turned out, it just seems so peaceful and serene to me.  This will be headed to someone very special this Christmas season.

Special Delivery

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is ready to start the Christmas season!  Today I'm sharing a card I made last year, but somehow never managed to blog.  It features this really cute Special Delivery stamp and the background is Christmas Background both by Stampendous.  I colored the reindeer with Prismacolor pencils and then sprinkled on White Embossing Powder for the snow.

This Christmas Background  stamp is so versatile and can be used in so many ways.  Although patterned papers are fun to use, sometimes it's just nice to make your own.  Stampendous makes a bunch of stamps that make great backgrounds!  You should really check them out for the favorite stamper on your Christmas list!

Thanks for stopping by today - time for me to get going.  Our family is decorating for Christmas today - the boys are so excited!

Poinsettia Thanks

Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you.  This is a great card for mass production!  I made a set of 10 cards in less than 25 minutes!  I'll be giving each of my boys teachers a set in their Christmas gift this year.

To make this card I used the Cling Jumbo Poinsettia and the sentiment is from the Agapanthus Thank You set.  After stamping the poinsettia in VersaMark ink, I sprinkled on and heat set Red Tinsel Embossing Powder, stamped the sentiment and VOILA!  Card done!  So quick and easy!

Thank you notes make a great Christmas gift - especially for teachers!  Why not add a set under your Christmas tree this year?

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by those you love.

Sleigh Ride

I'm back again today with another card using the super-duper cute Penguin Sleigh stamp set by Stampendous.  This set is available at Michaels and you really don't want to pass up a chance to get it!  It's so cute and will be perfect for cards all winter long!  For the snow and the pom-poms, I added a bit of Crystal Embossing Powder.

It's fun to see how different today's card and yesterday's card look - just by changing the color scheme.  Although, I really like today's card, I think I have to say the I LOVE yesterday's card.  The non-traditional color scheme was a lot of fun to work with.  But, really, with a stamp this stinkin' cute, how can you go wrong???  (you can't!)

Time to me to scoot, my friends.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you'll visit again tomorrow when I'll have a great project for quick and easy Christmas gifts.  I have a card that is SO EASY to mass produce...it would be perfect for Christmas cards or thank you notes.

Happy Snow Day!

Brrr....I don't know what the weather is like in your area, but here near Chicago it is COLD!!!!  Today we're supposed to get about an inch of snow. So, this card seems perfect for today!  These little penguins all lined up in their sleigh are just so cute!  This stamp is appropriately named Penguin Sleigh by Stampendous.  It is one of the fun new stamps available at Michaels this season.  For the snow I used Shaved Ice - this stuff is "glitter to the max"! The fun snowflake paper is by DCWV from the Holiday Stack.

Be sure to stop by the Stampendous Blog this week for more inspiration.  Our theme for this week is "Scenic Christmas", so you're sure to be inspired.  In the meantime, run out to Michaels and get this stamp set before it's gone.  It could be used all winter long, not just at Christmas.  I think I'll use it for a couple of birthday cards in January and February.

Thanks for stopping by today - be sure to come back again tomorrow when I'll share another card made with this stamp.

He's Makin' a List and Checkin' It Twice

He's making a list and checking it twice!  Which list will you be on this year?  It's almost that time again - time to get busy making your Christmas cards!  This Cling Jumbo Dear Santa  by Stampendous is a super fun image to color.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I just carefully colored the words I wanted to stamp with a black marker.  These word block images are fun to use as a background image or pick a choose specific words or phrases.  To embellish this card, I sprinkled on some Aged Hunter Embossing Enamel from the Green Encrusted Jewel kit by Stampendous.

This was a fun card to create and will be a fun one to pop in the mail to someone special this holiday season.

Christmas Hugs to You!

Today I'm sharing a card with the super-cute Stampendous Kiddo Toyland. The sentiment is from the Stampendous Toy Train stamp set. All of the supplies used to make this card are available at Michaels.

I just love this little kiddo.  I thought I'd try something different with this card and stayed away from traditional Christmas colors.  I had so much fun making this one.  The papers in the DCWV Holiday stack are all so pretty and fun to mix and match.  After coloring the image with my Copic markers, I added a bit of Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder.

This card is for a very special little girl.  One of the 3 year olds at the Preschool where I work, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.  We've been sending her cards to keep her spirits up and this one will soon make it's way to her mailbox.  If you could please keep her in your thoughts and prayers it would be appreciated.

Stampendous and Scrapbook Adhesives Stick Together

I am STUCK on Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!  All of their products are so easy to work with and you will find the perfect adhesive for every application!  On this card I used E-Z Runner Permanent Strips for the main image.  I love that the dispenser is refillable!  Then I used 3-D Foam Squares for the sentiment.  These foam square hold just about anything, the backing liner is easy to remove (a definite plus!) and they are available in black and white.  How could you go wrong?

The image on this card is Angel by Stampendous and is available at Michaels.  It is one of my favorites for this Christmas season and I have a feeling I will be using it on many of my holiday cards and projects this year.  I colored the Angel with my Copics and added Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder to the wings and dove.  The border is embossed with silver embossing powder - I think it looks so pretty against the blue shimmer card stock.

Happy Fall Y'all!

How cute is this scarecrow???  Lisa Hindsley has created this Friendly Scarecrow for Stampendous and I think he is just so sweet.  He's a lot of fun to color and I really enjoyed making this card.  I'm sure I'll be getting him inky again soon.  The fence border punch seemed like a natural on this card and I added a sentiment from the Happy Messages Perfectly Clear stamp set by Stampendous.

My youngest son and I both celebrate birthdays this month, so I'm sure this card will be sent to someone special very soon.  How can you not share such a Friendly Scarecrow?

Time for me to get busy on my to-do list for the day.  It's my day off and my list is a mile long.  Hope all is well in your corner of the world.  Thanks for stopping by!

It's Finally Fall!

It's finally Fall!  I don't know about your neck of the woods, but in our area the leaves are changing, the air is cooling and pumpkins are everywhere.  I love Fall!  This past weekend, our town celebrated with our annual Fall Fest, so now I am in the spirit!  That's why I was so excited to get Jack Sunflower inky.  Isn't he great? Jack is from the Lisa Hindsley Collection by Stampendous.  I paired him with the Autumn Words background stamp.  Lisa has some really fantastic images, I'll share another one with you tomorrow.

I colored Jack Sunflower with Copic and Spectrum Noir markers - I've had so much fun experimenting with color combinations.  Speaking of combos, have you see the "Color of the Day" posts by my friend, Jennifer Dove?  She's an AMAZING artist!  Check out her blog.  You will definitely be inspired by her creativity!

Ok friends, it time for me to scoot. Hope all is well in your corner of the world and that you'll take time to get inky today!

Stampendous Meets Maya Road

This week we on the Stampendous design teams had a great opportunity to create with some great Maya Road products.  What fun!  I really enjoyed using their chipboard letters on the card I posted a few days ago (here).  Today I used some great stick pins by Maya Road.

This beautiful Angel Trumpet is one of my favorite Christmas stamps by Stampendous this year.  I think she is just so beautiful and elegant.  I've already made a few cards with her, and I have ideas for a few more.  I colored her with Copic markers.  I didn't have any silver card stock, so I inked up the edges of some white card stock with VersaMark ink and sprinkled on and heat set some Detail Silver Embossing Powder to make my own silver card stock - crisis averted!  A little sprinkling of Aged Silver Embossing EnamelUltra Fine Crystal Snow Glitter to the wings and a sheer silver bow almost made the card complete.  Almost.  Maya Road Vintage Pearl Trinket Pins were the perfect finishing touch!  I LOVE these pins!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to see what the other girls have created today.  It's time for you to get hopping!  Take time to get inky today!

Stampendous Travels Down Maya Road

This week the Stampendous design teams had the opportunity to incorporate Maya Road supplies into our projects.  HOW FUN!

I decided to use the Maya Road Jonathan Chipboard Alphabet.  I inked up the letters with VersaMark ink and sprinkled on Stampendous Carnelian PEARLustre Embossing Powder and heat set it.  I love this color!  I reach for it often - if you don't have it, I think you probably need it, just say'n.

On the card base, I stamped Stampendous Jumbo Leaves with VersaMagic Red Brick and Gingerbread inks.  The main image is the adorable Stampendous Cling Leaf Girl Kiddo, which I colored with Copics.  I think she is just so stinkin' cute!

This card was so much fun to create and I loved working with the Maya Road chipboard letters.  I have so many ideas on what to do with the rest of the alphabet!  Stay tuned for more!

Be sure to check out Janelle and Lea's blogs today - they're sharing Stampendous and Maya Roads goodies also!  Plus swing by the Stampendous Blog to see what creative inspiration is waiting for you there.  Then, stop by again on Friday for our big blog hop!  You'll definitely be inspired!

Well friends, time for me to scoot!  It's been so hot here lately - I am definitely ready for fall!  I'm looking forward to bundling up in a sweatshirt like this little kiddo and playing in the leaves!

Surprise Changito

Found another card that I never managed to post.  This was a fun card to make - you can't go wrong with Changito!  For the background I used Stampendous Boss Gloss to make a polka dot pattern on my card base then sprinkled on Stampendous embossing powders (PearLustre Embossing Powders would be great for this!) and heat set.  What a fun background!  I stamped my favorite little monkey, Changito and colored him with Prismacolor pencils.  This stamp is Stampendous Surprise Changito.  Punch the edge with a notebook punch add some twine and a button, stamp a sentiment (this one is from Stampendous Happy Messages Perfectly Clear stamp set) and VOILA!  A fun card for any age!

Thanks for stopping by today!  My boys went back to school today and my to-do list is a mile long now that the house is quiet again!  First on my list is to make a few cards for an upcoming Stampendous catalog - just wait until you see the new stuff!  You are sure to be wow-ed!!!!

Have a great day!

Peacock Feather

This is a card I made a long time ago and for some reason it never got posted.  It's one I made for Michaels and is featured on their website.  Here's the link to the directions and supply list.  All of the supplies used to make this card are available at Michaels.

All of the supplies are by Stampendous I stamped the Peacock Feather with VersaMark ink and then heat embossed with Blueberry, Shamrock and Sapphire Pearl Embossing Powders by Recollections and Blue Blaze Sparkle Embossing Powder by Recollections.  Combining different colors when you heat emboss is so much fun and you'll get a different result every time.  The sentiment is from the Stampendous Happy Messages Perfectly Clear stamp set.

This is a quick and easy card to make and a good one to mass produce.  When I make a card like this, I like to make a few extra, but not stamp the sentiment.  That way, when I need a card (for whatever occasion) all I have to do is add the greeting, sign my name and it's good to go.  Great to have on hand - just in case!

Time for me to scoot - hope all is well in your corner of the world.

It's Time to HOP!!!

Today the Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils design teams have gotten together for a summer fun blog hop.  Dreamweavers Stencils and Stampendous Essentials are a winning combination!  Add a Stampendous stamp or two and you have perfection!

Today I'm sharing a tag that I made for my mother-in-law.  She loves lighthouses, so this Lighthouse stencil was my first choice.  The lighthouse and the sailboat are actually on the same stencil, but I inked them up on 2 pieces of card stock so look like two separate images.  The tag itself was inked with distress inks and the Petals Background stencils and then I added Crystal Embossing Powder over the whole tag and heat set it.  I thought it looked like water droplets.

Stampendous has a wonderful line of Essentials that pair perfectly with Dreamweavers stencils.  On my tag I used Lemonade Yellow Fun Flock for the sun, Multi Ultra Fine Crystal GlitterChampagne PearLustre Embossing PowderClear Bark EPDetail Black EPRuby Red EP, and Blue Ultra Fine Pastel Glitter.

The Stampendous Soaring Sentiments stamp set has some really great messages and I thought this one was perfect!  I added some ribbon and a shell charm from Blue Moon Beads and VOILA!

We hope you’ve been following along all week so that you can have the opportunity to win one of three terrific prize packages!
