Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Full Color Hop

Thanks for hopping by!  Today the Stampendous and Tombow Design Teams have gotten together for a super fun and colorful Blog Hop featuring some really great products!

The card I'm sharing today is unlike any card I've ever made.  It doesn't have any coloring, but thanks to these wonderful Tombow Dual Brush Pens my card has beautiful colors in the background.

First I stamped the Stampendous Rattan Weave stamp on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and embossed it with Detail White Embossing Powder.  Then I scribbled some ink from the purple, blue and green Dual Brush Pens on the Tombow Blending Palette and spritzed it with water using the mister (both the Palette and Mister are included in the Tombow Blending Kit).  I dipped the embossed panel into the watered down ink and kept reapplying ink until I got the look I wanted.  How fun!  The possibilities are endless!  The embossed area resists the ink which allows the pattern to show through.

Once the panel was dry, I matted the watercolor panel on black card stock and to the card base using Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.  I used the greeting from the Happy Messages stamp set by Stampendous and also heat embossed it with Detail White Embossing Powder.

Adding some Mica Fragments seemed to finish the card.  I used  Teal Mica Fragments from the Fusion Stack Art Elements Kit and Lavender Mica Fragments from the Sumptuous Stack Art Elements Kit both by Stampendous.

So...are you ready to get hopping?  Here's the list of stops - be sure to leave comments along the way to be in the running for some great prizes!  If you happen to lose your way, stop by the Stampendous blog for more information.

Ok, time to you to hop, thanks for stopping by, take time to get inky today!

Coloring Inside the Lines

This week the Stampendous Design Team is partnering with Tombow to bring you some beautiful inspiration!  I don't know about you, but I am ready for Spring, so I made a bright and colorful card today using some really great products!

First I inked up this beautiful Stampendous Delicate Daisy image with Tsukineko VersaFine ink in Onyx Black.  I colored the flower with my new Tombow Jelly Bean Brush Pens.  I outline each petal of the daisy with my pink marker and then used the Blender Pen to soften the lines.  How fun!  For the stem, I scribbled some of the green marker on the Blending Palette and picked up some ink with the Blender Pen to apply.  I love the soft colors that this produces.

I sprinkled a bit of Stampendous Jade PearLustre and Pirate Gold Embossing Powders on the card base and added a touch of Gilded Mica Fragments before I heat set from the underside.  A little May Arts ribbon and VOILA my card was done!

Be sure to leave a comment here to be in the running for a great prize package and stop by the Stampendous Blog for more creative inspiration from Stampendous and Tombow!  AND....stop by again on Friday when the Stampendous Design Team will be blog hopping with the Tombow team!

Fun with Faber-Castell

This week the Stampendous Design Team received some great products from Faber-Castell to play with.  They were so generous!  Today was the first time I have used Gelatos and I can tell you it won't be my last!  The color goes on really nice and blends beautifully!

Here's the card that I created...

I first stamped this Live Creatively stamp by Stampendous with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Stampendous Detail White Embossing Powder.  This is where the magic begins...I applied the Gelatos from the red set in vertical stripes across my embossed panel and then blended them with my fingers and wiped the excess of with a baby wipe to expose the embossing.  Doesn't get much easier than that!

I love the ombre effect!  Now I need to go shopping to get some other color collections!

Stop by the Stampendous blog today to see who else has some beautiful inspiration to share with you today.  And be sure to leave a comment here to be entered in the drawing for a great prize package!
