Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Take time to get inky today....

PenPattern Pals

When I made the cards that I'm sharing with you today, I envisioned these being a part of a set.  Same layout, same type of card stock, just different colors.  These were so much fun to create.

Both of these images were colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  For complete supply lists and directions visit the Stampendous website. Moose card and Snowman card.

Christmas in July

It's Sneak Peek Week!  I can finally share some of the new Stampendous catalog with you!  The card that I'm sharing today appears on the cover of the new catalog - I'm a cover girl!!!  So exciting for me!

This card uses the super gorgeous Cling Delicate Snow set and the sentiment is from the Holiday Words stamp set.  Both images were stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder.  I love the white embossing against the blue card stock!  More information and directions to make this card can be found here.

Hoppin' to It

2014_06_coredinations

Hope you've enjoyed the terrific collaboration between Stampendous products and Core'dinations' gorgeous papers! We have been thrilled to bring it to you! Today is the final day!! Of course there are prizes! We'll give away three packs of goodness! The Prize Package includes the Lovely Garden Stamp Set; the Matching Lovely Garden Cutting Dies from Stampendous; a Sand It Kit from Core'dinations which includes a sanding block, replacement sandpaper, and a "must-have" Dust Buddy clean up cloth; Core'dinations will also be sending the lucky winners some of their fantastic 6" X 6" paper pads. PLUS an extra special bonus - our friends at Dreamweaver Stencil will be adding the gorgeous Stone Wall stencil that Jamie Martin used in her terrific card this week (you can see a peek of it on this blog hop banner!)

Speaking of Stampendous and Core'dinations and Dreamweaver, I have a card to share with you today that uses products from all three fabulous companies.

I shared a card a few weeks ago, that used this same stencil & stamp and decided to use that card as my inspiration.  You can find that card here. This time, I ran my Core'dinations Pastel card stock through my Cuttlebug with Dreamweaver Book Cover Stencil and then sanded the embossed area with my Sand-It Gadget.  I love the design that is left behind!  The square in the embossed image is the perfect size for the butterfly in the Stampendous Cling Lovely Garden stamp set.  Cutting out the butterfly is a breeze with the coordinating Lovely Garden Die Cut Set.  The gorgeous silk May Arts ribbon to
tie it all together!

It's not often that I make the same card more than once, but I think I may make a few of these in different color combinations to keep in my stash. When I do make cards to have on hand, I leave the inside blank so I can stamp an appropriate sentiment when it's time to pop the card in the mail. This card would be great for many occasions.

Welcome to another week long collaboration! This week we're playing with Core'dinations' gorgeous papers! There is a huge variety of papers that are perfect for just about every project!

For my card today, I used the fabulous Tim Holtz Kraft-Core paper and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder and then sanded it with my Sand It Gadget.  This adorable image is Umbrella Nap by Stampendous.  I colored Bumble with my Spectrum Noir markers and sponged the inside of my circle die with Distress Inks.  A bit of May Arts ribbon and my card is done.

So, here's where the fun begins...visit the participating blogs this week and leave comments along the way to be in the running for a great prize package!

Glory

Hi!  I'm here today with a quick post to share with you.  A friend had asked me if I would make a card for a Confirmation she was attending and this is what a came up with.

I use the Glory Verse and Celtic Cross stamps by Stampendous.  The papers are from DCWV Linen Mat Stack and the ink is Tsukineko VersaFine Vintage Sepia.  The cross and sentiment circle are lightly inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Well, that's it for me today.  I hope all is well in your corner of the world.  Take time to get inky today.

Dad's the Man!

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by today!  This week the Stampendous Design Team is celebrating dads.  And, although, my card might make you think otherwise, this is one of the Fathers' Day cards I made this year.  This card is for a single mom I know who is raising two wonderful kids all on her own and who I thought deserved a little recognition on Fathers' Day.

For this card, I inked up this fabulous Stampendous Butterfly Tune stamp twice with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used one image as a complete panel and colored just the butterfly on the other one with my Spectrum Noir markers, then I fussy cut it. I bent the wings up a bit and glued the body on top of the butterfly on the main panel to add a little dimension. The sentiment is from the Royal Heart Quotes Perfectly Clear stamp set.  A bit of crystal glitter on the butterfly and a touch of my Sakura Stardust pen on the frame around the sentiment and this card is perfect for my no-frills friend.

Take time this Fathers' Day to remember the moms who, for one reason or another, play both roles in the lives of their children.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Take time to get inky!

Inky Hop

Stampendous and Imagine Crafts Header
Welcome back! We're on Day 5 of our collaboration with the folks at Imagine Crafts! We're just super excited about these terrific inks and the Radiant Neon just have us feeling all summer time and happy! Combining them with Stampendous Images and terrific Frantage Color Fragments has made some super cheery, bright inspiration for you!!

I had so much fun creating the card I'm sharing with you today!  This idea popped into my head as soon as I opened the box when they came in the mail.  I first stamped this great Live Creatively stamp by Stampendous with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Detail White Embossing Powder. Then came the fun part!

Using a fingertip Sponge Dauber, I applied the brilliant Radiant Neon Inks.  I applied the ink a little heavier toward two corners and lighter as the dots moved closer to the sentiment.  It almost creates a bokeh look.  I kept the card simple to let the inspiring sentiment and vivid inks speak for themselves.

Get Inky

Stampendous and Imagine Crafts Header
This week we're celebrating the current neon trend with the folks at Imagine Crafts! Their new line of beautiful inks called Radiant Neon are just exactly that! They positively glow with brilliant color. And they coordinate perfectly with our beautiful Frantage Color Fragments! The potential for splashes of incredible color are absolutely endless. And you can win some, too!!

The card I have for you today features the gorgeous Stampendous Jumbo Cling Rubber Butterfly Trio and Butterfly Charms Perfectly Clear Stamps sets.  I'll be giving this card to my niece for her Middle School graduation next month, so I included the Dreams Come True sentiment stamp.

The colors I used are from the new line of Radiant Neon inks.  All of the colors are absolutely fantastic!  For this card I used Electric Pink and Electric Purple. I did first and second generation stamping (stamped once and then again without re-inking the stamp).  I also inked up one of the tiny butterflies with the equally beautiful Silver Delicata ink.

When I went to assemble the card, instead of reaching for silver card stock, I inked the edges of a panel of white card stock with the same Silver Delicata ink.  A perfect match!  The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, my very favorite ink for sentiments.

STM Imagine Crafts Prize Package
We'll send three lucky winners 3 Radiant Neon Ink Pads and 3 jars of Color Fragments (we choose the colors). All you have to do to enter is to comment on as many of the blog posts this week as you can. You have until the end of Sunday, May 25th to comment. Here We Go Again!

All week the Stampendous and Dreamweaver Stencils Design Teams have been collaborating to bring you creative inspiration.

The card I'm sharing with you today uses the beautifully intricate Book Cover Stencil.  It is gorgeous!  This would be stunning for a wedding or anniversary card.  I chose to use Pearlescent Embossing Paste on white card stock to make the beautiful Stampendous butterfly from the Cling Jumbo Lovely Garden stamp set stand out.  The butterfly was colored with Spectrum Noir markers and I love the way it looks against the pearly background.  Cutting out the butterfly was a snap with the new Lovely Garden Die Cut set.

Stampendous and Dreamweavers

This week Stampendous and Dreamweaver are once again teaming up to show you how stamps and stencils work together beautifully.  The Dreamweaver stencils have such beautiful designs and their embossing paste is so easy to work with.  Together, they make the perfect background for Stampendous stamps!

Today I'm sharing a card that features the gorgeous Stampendous Cling Blossom Beauty Stamp.  The flowers on her head are included with this stamp set and are a breeze to die cut using the Blossom Beauty Die Cut set.  I added a few leaves from the Cling Lovely Garden stamp set and the coordinating Lovely Garden Die Cut Set.  All of the stamped images were stamped with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I'm still practicing my coloring technique, but it sure is fun to practice!  Thanks so much to Crafter's Companion for their generosity!

For the background, I used the graceful Large Flourish stencil by Dreamweaver.  I applied Pearlescent Embossing Paste on white card stock. Once it was dry, I lightly applied Bundled Sage and Peeled Paint Distress Inks. What a great background!  I'll be reaching for this stencil again and again! And the sheen on this embossing paste is spectacular in person!

Sneak Peek Week

The time has finally come when I can show you some of the new stampy goodness that you'll find in the new Stampendous catalog!  You're going to love this release!

The card I am sharing today is in the new catalog on page 11.  It's still such a thrill for me to have my cards in the catalog.  I have to pinch myself when I see that my projects share the page with some of my stamping icons.  What an honor!

This card features the new Cling Lovely Garden stamp set.  And here's the really exciting news....Stampendous now offers coordinating die sets for some stamps.  That made making this card a breeze!  The sentiment is from the new Loving Messages clear stamp set.

First I stamped this flower with Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers.  The sentiment was stamped with Tsukineko VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  I like this ink best for sentiments.  A bit of beautiful May Arts ribbon was the perfect finishing touch.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Stampendous website for the new products - they'll be coming soon.

Well friends, thanks for stopping by today!  I'll share a link to the new Stampendous catalog as soon as it's available - I know you're going to love it!

Full Color Hop

Thanks for hopping by!  Today the Stampendous and Tombow Design Teams have gotten together for a super fun and colorful Blog Hop featuring some really great products!

The card I'm sharing today is unlike any card I've ever made.  It doesn't have any coloring, but thanks to these wonderful Tombow Dual Brush Pens my card has beautiful colors in the background.

First I stamped the Stampendous Rattan Weave stamp on watercolor paper with VersaMark ink and embossed it with Detail White Embossing Powder.  Then I scribbled some ink from the purple, blue and green Dual Brush Pens on the Tombow Blending Palette and spritzed it with water using the mister (both the Palette and Mister are included in the Tombow Blending Kit).  I dipped the embossed panel into the watered down ink and kept reapplying ink until I got the look I wanted.  How fun!  The possibilities are endless!  The embossed area resists the ink which allows the pattern to show through.

Once the panel was dry, I matted the watercolor panel on black card stock and to the card base using Tombow Xtreme Adhesive.  I used the greeting from the Happy Messages stamp set by Stampendous and also heat embossed it with Detail White Embossing Powder.

Adding some Mica Fragments seemed to finish the card.  I used  Teal Mica Fragments from the Fusion Stack Art Elements Kit and Lavender Mica Fragments from the Sumptuous Stack Art Elements Kit both by Stampendous.

So...are you ready to get hopping?  Here's the list of stops - be sure to leave comments along the way to be in the running for some great prizes!  If you happen to lose your way, stop by the Stampendous blog for more information.

Ok, time to you to hop, thanks for stopping by, take time to get inky today!

Coloring Inside the Lines

This week the Stampendous Design Team is partnering with Tombow to bring you some beautiful inspiration!  I don't know about you, but I am ready for Spring, so I made a bright and colorful card today using some really great products!

First I inked up this beautiful Stampendous Delicate Daisy image with Tsukineko VersaFine ink in Onyx Black.  I colored the flower with my new Tombow Jelly Bean Brush Pens.  I outline each petal of the daisy with my pink marker and then used the Blender Pen to soften the lines.  How fun!  For the stem, I scribbled some of the green marker on the Blending Palette and picked up some ink with the Blender Pen to apply.  I love the soft colors that this produces.

I sprinkled a bit of Stampendous Jade PearLustre and Pirate Gold Embossing Powders on the card base and added a touch of Gilded Mica Fragments before I heat set from the underside.  A little May Arts ribbon and VOILA my card was done!

Be sure to leave a comment here to be in the running for a great prize package and stop by the Stampendous Blog for more creative inspiration from Stampendous and Tombow!  AND....stop by again on Friday when the Stampendous Design Team will be blog hopping with the Tombow team!

Fun with Faber-Castell

This week the Stampendous Design Team received some great products from Faber-Castell to play with.  They were so generous!  Today was the first time I have used Gelatos and I can tell you it won't be my last!  The color goes on really nice and blends beautifully!

Here's the card that I created...

I first stamped this Live Creatively stamp by Stampendous with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Stampendous Detail White Embossing Powder.  This is where the magic begins...I applied the Gelatos from the red set in vertical stripes across my embossed panel and then blended them with my fingers and wiped the excess of with a baby wipe to expose the embossing.  Doesn't get much easier than that!

I love the ombre effect!  Now I need to go shopping to get some other color collections!

Stop by the Stampendous blog today to see who else has some beautiful inspiration to share with you today.  And be sure to leave a comment here to be entered in the drawing for a great prize package!

Stampendous and May Arts Hop To It

Today's the big day for the Stampendous-May Arts Ribbon Blog Hop!  You are sure to be inspired by the creations that the gals on the design teams have to share.  To see the list of who is hopping with us today, stop by the Stampendous Blog.

The card that I have to show you uses the super-duper adorable Cake Dreamer stamp.  This is Pebble and he is dreaming of an upcoming birthday in this fun Gruffies® image by Ellen Jareckie. This "Dream Big" sentiment is included in the Crosswords Perfectly Clear stamp set.  It is the perfect message to pair with this image!

I love this ribbon by May Arts!  My boys hate when I put ribbons or bows on cards for them to give their friends.  This is one of the few ribbons I can get away with and not have them mad at me.

The patterned papers are by DCWV and are found in the All About Boys and the Dots, Stripes & Plaids mat stacks.  The sentiment was stamped with Tsukineko VersaFine Vintage Sepia in and the image was colored with Prismacolor Pencils.

Ok, time for me to scoot.  After making this card, I have a taste for cake and think I need to bake while the boys are at school today.

Don't forget to leave me a comment here in order to be in the running for some great prizes.  Stop by the Stampendous blog for more information.

Stackin in Up

Have you checked out the new Stampendous Stack Art yet?  It's so much fun!  Stack Art is a great new kit that includes four sheets of die-cut kraftboard with tag shapes, frames and embellishments.  It also includes matching die-cut sheets of double-sided adhesive paper and four sheets of printed greetings.  Combine these kits will any of the Stack Art Elements kits which include glitter, micas and color fragments and you've got yourself a great gift tag, greeting or favor.

Today I'm sharing the very first project I made using Stack Art.

For this project, I used the Stack Art Angels Kings Kraftboard kit.  I chose not to do any stamping of this project, but there is a coordinating stamp set that you can find HERE.  To the bottom layer, I applied VersaMark ink and then heat embossed Vintage Lilac Embossing Tinsel.  For the frame I applied the die-cut double-sided adhesive and sprinkled on the turquoise glitter from the Sumptuous Stack Art Elements Kit.  The wings have two layers of VersaMark ink and Sterling Silver Embossing Powder.  Again, I used the die-cut double-sided adhesive on the heart and sprinkled on the rose glitter from the Sumptuous Stack Art Elements Kit.  For the hanger, I added a loop of sheer silver ribbon.

This is about as easy as it gets!  Choose a Kraftboard kit and an Elements Kit and you're good to go!  It all goes together and you can't get it wrong!  So, what do you have to lose?  Give it a try!  You'll love it!

Cap and Scroll

Have you had a chance to check out the new Stampendous release yet??? Well, what are you waiting for???  It is FABULOUS!

I have a quick and easy card to share with you today!  It's perfect for the special graduate in your life.  I chose the colors for this card based on our local high school colors, but this can be easily changed to your local colors. What a fun way to personalize a card!  I used the Graduation Background for one panel, stamped with Tsukineko London Fog ink and the main image is Cap and Scroll stamped with VersaMark ink and embossed with Marcasite Embossing Powder.

A couple of lengths of baker's twine and VOILA!  Card is done!  Quick and easy!  This card could also be used for graduation announcements, party invitations or thank you notes.  It's so versatile!

If you'll stop by again tomorrow, I'll have one more card to share with you using some beautiful images from this new release.  If you've been keeping track that means I will have posted FIVE days in a row!  That has to be some sort of a record for me!

Thanks for stopping by today - take time to get inky!
