Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Take time to get inky today....

Stampendous and Envirotex Get Hoppin'

Envirotex-Jewelry-Clay-RJewelryResinPack1It's been a fun week playing with ETI’s Jewelry Resin,  and with their two part epoxy  Resin Clay.  I enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and working with both.  I already have more ideas for future projects with these great products.  Stay tuned!
I've really been impressed with the projects the Stampendous design team has created this week.  Be sure to check out this weeks' Stampendous Impressions blog posts for links to all of the design team posts.
And, of course, the famous Resin and Resin Clay Diva, Carmi Cimicata of the Resin Crafts Blog has been playing along with us this week with some of her terrific creations!
PLUS – The people at Nunn Design were kind enough to supply bezels to the the team so that we could make some beautiful jewelry!

I'm pleased to say that the project I created for you today turned out exactly like I pictured it in my head!  That doesn't happen very often!  I'm so excited!  I usually tend to wear the same jewelry every day and not worry about matching my necklace to my outfit.  This pendant has made me change my mind!  I can't wait to find the perfect outfit to wear with this.
To make this pendant, I followed the package directions to prep the Jewelry Clay and then stamped one of the leaf images from the Stampendous Foliate Quad Cube onto the clay.  I used a craft knife to trim the clay to fit in the bezel, carefully transferred the clay to the bezel and brushed on Perfect Copper Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder and let the clay cure.  The next day I used a soft cloth to wipe away the excess pigment powder and buff it up a little.  That's when I let out a little squeal!  I LOVE it!
I'm so bummed that this looks no where as cool in the picture as it does in real life!  I can't even tell you how many pictures I took, and this was the best one.  *sigh*  Sorry - hope you get the idea!

Here's my dilemma!  On one hand I want to leave it alone and not mess it up, on the other hand I think it would look really cool if I rubbed on a bit of green paint to give it a patina look.  Decisions, decisions!  What do you think?
Ok, now it's time for you to check out what all of the other girls have created.  Be prepared to be WOWED!!!  I'm sure they're going to knock your socks off!   Be sure to leave comments on each blog because we have Resin AND Stamps AND Bezels to give away!!  Here’s who is playing with us today:

Fun with Stampendous and Resin

JewelryResinPack1This week Stampendous has teamed up with ETI Jewelry Resin again.  We played together last year and had so much fun we thought we'd do it again.

I have to admit I was a bit intimidated by the Resin at first, but it is so easy to work with and a lot of fun.  It's as simple as imagining your design, mixing and pouring.  That's it!

Today I have a pendant to share with you.  I started with a Tim Holtz Fragment Charm.  I stamped the cute little seahorse from the Stampendous Mermaid Kiddo, colored it and cut it out.  I adhered the cute little guy to the charm with Beacon ZipDry and then started to mix my Jewelry Resin.  After I had it all mixed, I added a bit of Stampendous Crystal Micro Glitter and then poured it on my charm.  Then I added a touch of Stampendous Oceanic Crushed Glass Glitter and set it aside to set.  That's the hard part - the waiting!  Actually, not touching it is the hard part!  I always have this urge to touch it to see if it has cured yet.  DON'T DO IT!!!  Don't ask me how I know - I don't want to talk about it.

Envirotex-Jewelry-Clay-RNot only does ETI make Jewelry Resin, this year they’ve added their two part epoxy Resin Clay to our mix, and we’re just so excited! We can’t wait to show you the amazing things we’ve created!  Tomorrow I'm planning to play with this clay and have a project to show you on Friday.  Stay tuned!
And, of course, the famous Resin and Resin Clay Diva, Carmi Cimicata of the Resin Crafts Blog is playing along with us this week with some of her terrific creations!
PLUS – The people at Nunn Design were kind enough to supply bezels to the the team so that we could make some beautiful jewelry!

So leap aboard and check out the terrific projects! Be sure to leave comments on each blog because we have Resin AND Stamps AND Bezels to give away!!

Staedtler & Stampendous Hop

Hi there!  Today Stampendous has teamed up with STAEDTLER to bring you beautiful inspiration that is sure to lift your spirits!

The card I have to share features Stampendous Air Scapes Perfectly Clear and Soaring Sentiments Perfectly Clear stamp sets.  I love that the Air Scapes set has three different "scenes" included.  I chose to use the castle setting.  What a fun bunch of images to color!  Before I stamped the images with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on watercolor paper, I lightly ran STAEDTLER Ergosoft Aquarelle watercolor pencils across my paper.  Then I blended the colors with a wet paintbrush.  I love the way the colors blended to make the sky.  After the paper dried completely, I stamped my images and colored them using the same pencils.  I thought something was still missing, so I added a few cloud with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  I have to admit I LOVE THIS CARD!!!!  I don't know if I can give this one away!

Each day we’ve posted the list of all participating Design Team Members. You’ll want to leave a comment EVERY DAY on EVERY BLOG because at the end of the week the STAEDTLER Designers will each give away one package to someone who commented on their blog this week. Their prize package consists of:

The card that I'm sharing today features the Hot Air Trio and Soaring Sentiments Perfectly Clear stamps.  These stamps are part of the Stampendous April Release.  The "clouds" are from the Cling Jumbo Bird of Paradise set.  The clouds were heat embossed with Blue Magic Embossing Powder.

Daisy Thanks

I thought I'd try something different when I made this card.  Instead of coloring the flowers, I first masked off  the sides of the panel and applied Distress Ink in Dusty Concord with a sponge applicator.  It was fun!  Then I stamped this great Daisy Thanks bouquet and sentiment with Tsukineko Tuxedo Black ink.  All the supplies used to make this card are available at Michaels.

It was a quick and easy card to make.  I'm thinking it would make a great card set - each with a different color Distress Ink.  I may have just decided what to make for my boys to give their teachers next week on the last day of school!

Before I leave, I have to tell you to stop by again next week.  The gals at Stampendous are teaming up with Staedtler.  You don't want to miss the excitement!  We'll have great projects to share with you all week and then there's a Blog Hop on Friday with some fantastic prizes!

Ok, time for me to boogie.  Hope you're having a great week!

Happy Couple

Good Morning! (or afternoon or evening, depending on when you are reading this, I guess.)  It's a beautiful, sunny day here in the Chicago area - I'm hoping to get outside for a bit before I go to work this afternoon.  Hate to waste a gorgeous day!

Today it so beautiful it would be perfect for a wedding, so I thought I'd share a wedding card with you today.

All the supplies used to make this card are available at Michaels.  It features the Stampendous Happy CoupleMr. & Mrs. and Heart Stack.  I had a fun time making the background paper and experimenting with different PearLustre Embossing Powders.  I finally settled on White PearLustre, believe it or not.  It certainly doesn't look white on this pink paper.  Which just goes to prove that you should experiment because you just never know what you'll end up with. (Plus, the experimenting is the FUN part!)  I also used a VersaMarker and added a bit of White PearLustre Embossing Powder  to the veil and bottom of the wedding gown.

Well friends, it's time for me to head outside and enjoy this gorgeous day.  Don't forget to stop by here on the 10th (just TWO days away!!!)  I'll be celebrating the new Stampendous release at Michaels stores by giving away a great prize package to one lucky winner.  Stop back here on Friday for details!

Hope all is well in your corner of the world and that you'll take time to get inky today!

Cowlik Butterfly Hi!

It's May already!?!?!?  Where does the time go?  Just a few more weeks of school at the Preschool where I work and then my boys are done on the 31st.  This year has flown by!

Speaking of time flying, it's almost time for the new Stampendous products to hit the shelves at Michaels stores.  May 10th is the big day!  To celebrate the big release, I'll have blog candy to give away to one lucky winner that day - be sure to stop back here then!

Today I'm sharing a card that uses a stamp that you can find on the shelves today!  The "udderly" adorable Cowlik Butterfly.  I LOVE this stamp!   It makes me smile every time I get it inky!  I thought this Martha Stewart Picket Fence Edge Punch was perfect for my sentiment panel.  I love the way this card turned out and will be making a few more of these for my card stash.

All products used to make this card are available at Michaels.

Time for me to get "moo-ving".  Hope you have a wonderful day and take time to get inky today!
