Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Take time to get inky today....

Stampendous January Bling Challenge

It's the very first Saturday of the month (wait - it's actually the first Saturday of the year!!), and that means the fabulous ladies at Stampendous have a brand new challenge to play along with. This month we are all about bringing in the New Year with some BLING! Glitter, rhinestones, sparkly stickers...you name it. Just make it shiny and get it on your project!

Here's the BLING'd out card I made for you today...

recipe:  Stampendous Vintage Crowns, Mr. & Mrs., Detail Silver EP, Amethyst PEARLustre EP; Recollections Jewel card stock pack, white card stock, pearl and rhinestone stickers; VersaMark ink; Tsukineko Platinum Planet ink; CM Oval Cutting system; Michaels 5/8" sheer white ribbon

The bling and metallic embossing are hard to see in this photo - sorry!  The larger crown in the back is stamped with VersaMark and then embossed with Stampendous Detail Silver EP.  The crown in front is stamped with VersaMark on white card stock and embossed with Stampendous Amethyst PEARLustre EP.  Both of the crowns have pearls and rhinestones on them and the oval behind the "Mr & Mrs" sentiment is also embossed with silver EP.

Here's my attempt at a close-up so you can get a better look at the bling.  These crowns were so much fun to embellish!

Are you ready to take a look at what the other Stampendous team members have created to dazzle you today?  After you're done checking out their stampy-bling'd-out-goodness, then it's your turn. We want YOU to play along with us! Just add you direct link to your card (make sure you've loaded it up with tons of BLING) to the linky tool on the Stampendous blog no later than February 2, 2012 at 11:00 PM EST. You don't have to use Stampendous products to play along, but we sure love it when you do! And as an extra incentive for playing, one lucky person (drawn at random from all the entries) will receive this gorgeous Cherub Wishes Perfectly Clear Stamp Set: (it sure would be great for next month's Valentines!)  Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.

Here's the list of the super-creative gals playing along today:

To a Great Pair

I had so much fun making this card!  These cute little pears are from a Stampendous set called Little Fruit.  The set includes a bunch of different little fruits and cute little sentiments to go along.  I have a few more ideas using this set, so I'm sure I'll be getting it inky again soon.  I made this card for our Pastor and his wife for their wedding anniversary.  It was so much fun to make, that I'm tempted to make a few more to add to my stash.  I never seem to have the right card when I need it.

After I colored the pears, I added a coat of Diamond Glaze to them to give them a sheen.

Better get going now, time to get inky and build up my stash of cards.  I hope you'll take time to get inky today, too!

recipe:  Stampendous Little Fruit; Bazzill Celtic Green Dots; The Paper Co Pink & White Cardstock; Tsukineko Tuxedo Black ink; Prismacolor Pencils, Goo-Gone, Tortillons; JoAnn's Ribbon; Diamond Glaze
