Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Remember me?????

*knock*   *knock*  *knock*   Is this thing still on?  Is anyone still there?  It's me, Krissy, again.  It's been a long couple of months since I've posted anything.  Hopefully, taking the first step is the hardest, and now that I've done that I will be better about posting more often.  If you're still with me, thanks for hanging in there!

Now, let's see if I remember how to do this!

One of the many "things" that has been going on in our lives has been having to say good-bye to my son's beloved Preschool teacher.  She, after much consideration, decided it was best for her family for her to leave our little preschool and head in a new career path.  Both of my boys were in her "Polar Bear" class, so this card was for her from my oldest son.  He wrote the sweetest note inside telling her how much he loved "being her little polar bear".  He also told her that the 3 bears on the card were him, her and my youngest son.  It was really a touching note from a sweet little 6 year old.

Anyway!  On the the card.  I've told you before that I have had problems combining patterned papers in the past, but this just came together 1,2,3 for me.  I was so happy!  See the white felt snowflake in the corner?  Well, you'll never believe where I got it!  Menards!  Yep, that Menards, the home improvement store.  I found a 15 foot roll of snowflake ribbon before Christmas.  The whole roll was only about $4 - it will last for quite awhile....I just snip off one snowflake at a time.  I love the way it looks with a red button layered on top of it and then a snowflake sequin and a little bling.  All that layering makes you forget that the button is round, doesn't it?

I've never sewn on my cards before, but this card made me want to.  I think it would have been the perfect touch for this one, but I was too lazy to drag out my sewing machine.  Plus - I already have enough piled on my dining room table where I craft.

Well, there I've done it!  I'm back to blogging again.  Phew!  Thanks again for hanging in there.  I'll be back soon!   I promise!
