Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Take time to get inky today....

Stampendous February Texture Challenge

The first Saturday in February means it is time for a brand new challenge with Stampendous!  This month we are challenging you (and ourselves) to add a little texture to your projects.  Need a few ideas?  You can emboss using enamels or powders, use fun flock, glass glitter, mica fragments, color fragments, or use some embossing folders.  The possibilities are endless!

Here's the card that I created for today...

recipe: Stampendous Deco Lady, Taupe Color Fragments, Detail Copper EP, Detail Gold EP, Pirate Gold EP, Carnellian PEARLustre EP, Champagne PEARLustre EP; VersaMark ink pad; ivory ribbon; Tea Dye and Antique Linen Distress Inks; Recollections Spice Market Card Stock pack; Bazzill Brown Card Stock

I have to admit that when I first got this Deco Lady stamp, I wasn't so sure that I would get it inky often.  Boy, was I wrong!  She's so much fun to work with!  I really love to emboss this image with a variety of embossing powders.  I used 5 different colors on this one.  This was the first time I worked with the new Stampendous Color Fragments.  This time I used Taupe.  It was a lot of fun to combine the Color Fragments with Champagne PEARLustre Embossing Powder.  Here's a close-up of the Color Fragments

Sorry my pictures aren't the best today.  Unfortunately, I've been under the weather the past few days and didn't get to my craft table until late this afternoon.  By the time I had my card done, it was already getting dark, so all this sparkle was hard to photograph.  *sigh*

Ok friends, it's time for you to check out my fellow team-members' blogs and see what they've created for you.  I'm sure you're in for a real treat.

Here is a list of the Stampendous team members playing along today:

Then, after you've checked out all the inspiration the girls have posted, it's time for you to get inky!  We want YOU to play along with us!  Just add you direct link to your card (make sure you've loaded it up with tons of TEXTURE) to the linky tool on the Stampendous blog no later than March 1, 2012 at 11:00 PM EST.  You do not have to use Stampendous products to play along, but we sure love it when you do! And as an extra incentive for playing, one lucky person (drawn at random from all the entries) will receive this gorgeous Corset Ladies Perfectly Clear Stamp Set:

Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address.  We hope you get a chance to play along with us - happy stamping!  And make plans to join us next Saturday, for a fun blog hop, complete with prizes you don't want to miss.  We'll be showcasing all sorts of products just released at CHA!
