Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!
Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.
Take time to get inky today....

Embossed Flower Fields
Hi! Remember me??? Allow me to introduce myself....I'm Krissy....I know it's been forever since I posted. Life has been crazy around our home lately. But, now that I've gotten the boys back into the school routine I will have more time to get inky! Woo-hoo!!!!!!!! My oldest started 2nd grade last week and my youngest (my baby!) began Kindergarten. It's been an adjustment for all of us, getting back into the swing of a morning routine and getting them on and off of the bus and then dinner, homework and bedtime. It's been strange for me having both of them gone all day, I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, but right now it's still strange being home alone. More time to get inky though, right?
This is one of the cards I've created for Stampendous and Michaels stores. It's the first time I've used more than one colored embossing powder at a time. It was so much fun to mix and match!!! I have one tip for you, though. After you stamp the image with the Versamark ink sprinkle one of the embossing powders very lightly to use as a guideline as to where the flowers and stems are located. Then apply the remaining colors more liberally covering the image completely. For some more tips and techniques on how to use Stampendous embossing powders, watch some of Fran's videos on You Tube. All the supplies used to make this card are available at your local Michaels store!
I hope you'll come back tomorrow and check out the Stampendous Saturday Challenge. It's going to be so much fun! Our wonderful Wendy Price has created a great sketch and many of the Stampendous team members are playing along. We hope you will too!
I'll be back next week with more cards. Whatever your plans are for the long Labor Day weekend, I hope you and your family have a wonderful time with family and friends - be safe!
Take time to get inky today!

Dear Blog....
Dear Blog,
Oh, how I miss you! I miss getting inky, I miss the smell of new rubbah, I miss the feel of the paper, the shimmer of the ribbon, the sparkle of the bling, the shine of the embossing powder......I miss it all! I promise I'll be back soon. Just as soon as I get the boys off to school next week. I'm sure I'll miss them terribly (the first few days anyway), but I'll LOVE to have my stamping time again! Maybe I'll finally get some long-planned projects completed!
Just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you I'm thinking about you!
See you soon!
Love, Krissy

Happy Birthday, Brad!
You know how I love my little buddy, Changito! I had to get him good and inky for my nephew's birthday card. This little guy couldn't resist digging into the birthday cake (neither can I!) I paired this image with DCWV Animal Crackers Mat Stack. I love the the little leaves are glittered. This was my first attempt at a multi panel card - I found a YouTube video by Dawn. She has some great videos online - take a look!
While I'm here, I thought I'd share a picture I took of my nephew, Brad, this afternoon. Brad is a good boy and always eager to help everyone. At 9 years old, he is a bundle of energy and I'm so proud to be his Aunt and Godmother. Our family (10 of us) are all enjoying our annual getaway in Wisconsin. While we're here, we always celebrate August birthdays (Brad, my Mom, my hubby and my SIL). We've been busy partying!
Happy Birthday, Brad!!!!
Ok, friends, gotta skedaddle! Time to get back to my family. Hope you're all having a good day and that you'll take time to get inky today.

Frilly Bird Cage
Oh my goodness! Where does the time go? I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted anything. I've been busy getting inky, but I haven't had a chance to get any of my new projects online.....until now! It's amazing how crazy life gets during summer vacation!
This card is one that I created for Michaels. It's a bit out of my "comfort zone" but I'm soooo pleased with the results! I've had a lot of fun lately working with Stampendous embossing powders. There are so many colors available and they are ALL beautiful! I love the way they look against this DCWV silver shimmer paper. I used three different PearLustre embossing powders (Lapis, Emerald, and Sapphire) and then added a touch of Blue Tinsel EP for a little sparkle. So much fun!!!!
I hope you'll want to give this card a try, too. All the supplies to make it are available at Michael's.
I'll be back soon to show you more! Hope all is well in your corner of the world....it's hideously hot here this week....is it fall yet?
Take time to get inky today!

I just can't resist this adorable Stampendous stamp set! It's called Summer Cuties - and they really are cute! Since I have 2 little boys, I don't get the chance to make little girlie cards often, but I sure have had fun getting these little gals good and inky. I almost didn't get a picture of this card, I completely forgot until I already had it in the envelope and it was ready to deliver. Oops! Wish I had taken the time to get a better photo, but I was on limited time as we were headed out the door for a long weekend to my in-laws. This card was for my MIL's birthday. I used these great red Dot Sparkler Stickers by Stampendous on this card. The sentiment has a row of dots between "celebrate" and "summer"....and I used the Dot Sparklers on this little gal's pigtails. They remind me of those plastic ball pony tail holders we had as kids! So cute!

Bicycle Greetings
This card was one of a set of notecards I made for my little guy to give his Preschool Director on the last day of school. These are so quick and easy to put together. I'll be making more of these - they're great cards to have on hand. You know, I keep saying I'm going to build up my stash, but I still haven't done it...add it to the 'to-do list'!
I stamped this Hero Arts bicycle image on kraft card stock with black ink. I wanted the flowers to stand out a bit, but still be subtle. So I added dots of white ink to the blooms and a bit of green pencil to the leaves. That's it! Doesn't get much easier than that! A strip of DCWV paper at the bottom, a couple of scored lines, a sentiment and VOILA!
I made a set of 8 cards for Mrs. Kranz, each with a separate sentiment. These could easily be adapted for any occasion.
Just wanted to let you know that I'm participating in a Summer/4th of July Blog Hop on Saturday, July 2.....I hope you'll hop along with us. There will be many stops along the way, full of beautiful inspiration. Plus.....if you leave comments at each stop, you'll be eligible for one of 10 prizes. You don't want to miss it!
Take time to get inky today! Hope to see you back here on Saturday!
