Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Take time to get inky today....

Cross Place Cards

(Sorry this picture isn't the greatest, it's a cloudy, gloomy day here.  I think I need to look into buying or making a light box.  Any suggestions or recommendations?)

I'm in a "funk" today and this gloomy weather just isn't helping.  So, I thought I'd get inky to see if that would lift my spirits.  I wanted to make something simple so I made these Cross Place Cards.  Tonight at church our Preschool Board of Directors (of which I am a member) is hosting Lenten Supper, so I thought placecards may come in handy.  I just got this Calligraphy Cross and was anxious to get it inky.  I think this cross is so elegant.  I used the Merlot Embossing Kit because I thought the colors (Lettuce, Pomegranate, Grape, and Wild Plum) were perfect for this Lenten season.  This was a quick and easy project to make and got my mind off matters for awhile.

Speaking of "matters", our family would appreciate prayers and healing thoughts for my cousin.  She's been battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the past two years.  We got word last night that the stem cell transplant she received in December failed and that the cancer has spread.  At 47 years old and with a beautiful 9 year old little girl this is just unthinkable.  She will soon begin yet another round of chemotherapy, and is looking into a clinical trial and a donor stem cell transplant.  Sometimes life just isn't fair!

Tomorrow, when I'm in a better mood, I'll make cards to send to her and her daughter.  I hope you'll all take time today to send a card to someone special to let them know that you are thinking of them.  It's a small gesture that means so much!

Take time to get inky today....

recipe:  stamp:  Calligraphy Cross;  embossing powder: Merlot Embossing Kit; Tsukineko VersaMark ink;  paper: The Paper Co.

These make beautiful place cards. Your writing is spectacular. Gorgeous. I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. It breaks my heart to hear stories like this. Your message to send a card to someone is an important one. Thank you for that reminder. I wish only the best for your cousin. Best, Curt
