When I saw this stamp, I knew I had to make a card for my Aunt Rosie with it. Many years ago, her parents owned a Peony Farm and at one time they were the largest distributor of peonies in the Midwest. When my Dad was a boy he would spend a weekend or two up on the farm cutting peonies and loading them into a refrigerated train car that would take them into Chicago to go to the flower market.
When Aunt Rosie and Uncle Bob got married in the 1950s, the church was decorated with 100 dozen peonies! I can just imagine how beautiful it must have looked and smelled! I'm lucky enough to have three peony plants that are descendants of the original plants that were at the farm. I love my peonies and look forward to their blooming season every year!
For this card I stamped the Stampendous Cling Jumbo Peony with VersaMark ink and embossed it with White Pearl PEARLustre Embossing Powder. I then colored the image with watercolor pencils, matted it in black and added a luscious green ribbon before I adhered it to a pink card base. All of the supplies used to make this card are available at Michaels.
I can't wait to send this card to Aunt Rosie, I'm sure she'll love it.
Thanks for stopping by today, hope all is well in your corner of the world.
Take time to get inky today!
