Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!

Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.

Take time to get inky today....

Shhh! It's Laura's Birthday!

Today is a very special day for us Stampendous girls!  Today we are celebrating the birthday of our fabulous Graphics Manager and Design Team Coordinator, Laura Weed!  Laura is an amazingly supportive and patient person, and I'm blessed to call her my friend!  Today a bunch of us have created and posted birthday cards for her, so hop along with us and check out the birthday wishes!  Join us in wishing Laura a Happy Birthday!

The card I have created for Laura uses the super adorable Jumbo Snowfall Pair which is available at Michaels (along with everything I used to make this card).  I chose this image because there is SNOW friend like Laura!  I created the snow by sprinkling on Winter Wonderland Embossing Powder and heating it from the underside to melt the powder.  I love how it looks like snow!

Now it's time for you to hop along and see what my team mates have created for Laura.  Don't forget to leave Laura a little birthday love!

Laura, before I get hopping to see what the girls have created today, I wanted to take a moment to wish you a very Happy Birthday!  You took a chance on me and I can't thank you enough!  You are my very favorite Fairy Stamp Mother!  I hope you have a wonderful day and that the coming year is blessed with good health, hearty laughter, never-ending love and many memory making moments!

Now it's time for me to hop along.  I hope all is well in your corner of the world, friends.  Take time to get inky today!

Stampendous Hops with Fast Finish

All week Stampendous and Beacon Adhesives have teamed up to bring you some great projects using Fast Finish Decoupage Glue.  We wrap up the week with a creative Blog Hop for you - full of wonderful inspiration.  Fast Finish is a great decoupage medium that is so easy to work with and a snap to clean up.  It dries perfectly clear and really quickly.  The best part is there is no stickiness.  It is, by far, my favorite decoupage medium now!  You really have to try it!

The project I am sharing with you today is created using all materials that are available at Michaels.  First I painted a wood frame with Christmas Green paint.  I stamped the beautiful Poinsettia Background on white tissue with VersaMark ink and then embossed it with Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  The embossed tissue was then applied to the frame using Fast Finish and I added a coat of Fast Finish on top of the tissue to seal it.

To embellish the frame, I stamped the gorgeous Jumbo Poinsettia on white card stock twice.  I colored them both, cut them out and gently curled the petals before applying Fast Finish.  Add a few gold beads in the center and VOILA!

Now it's time for you to check out what my team mates have created today!  You're sure to be amazed!  I am surrounded by some super talented ladies!!!  Don't forget to leave comments along the way....we'll be choosing random comments to win some fantastic prizes!  You don't want to miss out on this chance!

Ok, I'm outta here!  Take time to get inky today....(after you check out these fabby blogs!)

Fast Finish Fun

Stampendous and Beacon Adhesives are teaming up this week and sharing some really great projects with you!  If you didn't already know, Beacon is the Official Glue of TLC's Craft Wars!  So you know it's gotta be the best!  For my project today I used Fast Finish Decoupage Glue.  It was so easy to work with and so much fun.

I chose to make a really simple project today.  I used a plastic pumpkin that I picked up on clearance after Halloween.  I thought I would make a simple Thanksgiving decoration.  I stamped Stampendous Autumn Words on plain white tissue paper with Tsukineko Rich Brown ink.  Then tore the tissue paper into about 2"x3" pieces and adhered them to the pumpkin with Fast Finish and then added another layer of the glue over the top to seal it all.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a good picture since it's really overcast here today.

I think I may head out today and see if I can find a few more pumpkins.  My boys want to make some of their own.  It's an easy project that would be fun for kids.  They have the next few days off of school, so it will be a fun project for us to work on this week.

Be sure to check back here on Saturday for our big Stampendous/Beacon Blog Hop - you're sure to be inspired.  In the meantime, check out what some of my team mates have to share with you today.

Hoppin' with Core'dinations

This week Stampendous has paired up with Core'dinations to show off some great products!  Core'dinations makes some really great card stock!  The core is a different color from the surface  and when sanded, torn or distressed, the core shows through to provide contrast.  How fun!

For my card today, I used green Core'dinations card stock and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday embossing folder.  I then sanded it to reveal the lighter core.  What a great effect!  The adorable image on this card is Icing Fluffles.  I colored Fluffles with my Prismacolor Pencils and added a bit of Crystal Glitter by Stampendous.  I added a beautiful silk ribbon by May Arts and VOILA!  A fun birthday card to add to my stash!

Are you ready to see what beautiful inspiration is waiting for you to explore?  It's time for you to sit down with a cup of coffee and check out my fellow teammates' blogs.  You are sure to be wowed!  Leave a little love along the way and you will be eligible for some fun prizes!

Time for me to get busy today - we are celebrating my son's 7th birthday this weekend and I have lots to do!  Hope all is well with you and that you'll take time to get inky today!

Stampendous & Core'dinations Get Together

This week we’re playing with the amazing papers from Core’dinations. For those of you unfamiliar with these papers they have a coordinating color core paper that is different from the outside color. Thus when you emboss them with raised embossing dies and sand the raised image it appears a different color. The color can also be revealed by tearing, die cutting, and just sanding the flat paper with a nifty sanding block tool (or any kind of sanding substance you have at home).  Or.....you can do like I did, and just leave the papers as is!

I used Core'dinations Spiced Marmalade for my card base and added a layer of this super beautiful Core Couture Glitter Paper.  The sparkle is gorgeous!  My main image is the elegant Deco Lady by Stampendous.  I inked her up with VersaMark ink and embossed her with CarnelianDetail Copper and Pirate Gold Embossing Powders.  I then inked the edges of the oval with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.  I couldn't resist when I saw this beautiful gold ribbon by May Arts on my table - I had to use it!

So, now it's time for you to see what my teammates have created for you today.  Don't forget to leave comments along the way in order to be eligible for some great prizes!  Be sure to join us on Saturday for our big Stampendous & Core'dinations Blog Hop!  You won't want to miss all of the beautiful inspiration!

Hope all is well in your corner of the world - take time to get inky today!  See you back here on Saturday!

Hopping with Stampendous & May Arts

Today the Stampendous Gals and May Arts Ribbon have gotten together to give you lots and lots of beautiful inspiration.  When you're done with this Blog Hop you will be itching to ink up some Stampendous stamps and to embellish with some beautiful May Arts ribbon!  Be sure to check out all of the blog stops today and leave a little love along the way for your chance to win some Stampendous goodies and some May Arts ribbon!

I decided to make a baby card today.  I used the super adorable Lion Baby and Baby Stardust by Stampendous.  Both of these stamps are available at Michaels.  The ribbon is a beautiful blue Twill Stripes by May Arts.  This ribbon is gorgeous and I think I need it in every color!  I added a bit of Kaleidoscope Embossing Powder to the swirls around the quote.

Speaking of this quote, it's one of my favorites and has a special place in my heart.  We had it printed on the bottom of my oldest son's birth announcements eight and a half years ago.  It makes me smile every time I look at this stamp!

Enough jabbering from me, it's time for you to get hopping!  Don't forget to comment along the way!

Thanks for stopping by take time to get inky today!

Patchwork Puppy Eyes

How could you resist this face?  Isn't this little pup just absolutely adorable????

I used Stampendous Puppy Eyes stamp and papers by Recollections.  This was such a fun card to work on - even after I finished it, I kept in on my craft table for the longest time, just because this little guy makes me smile!  In the corners of the card, I added Dot Sparklers.  This is a great way to add "bling" to your card, without the extra bulk, which means no extra postage!

Unfortunately, this little pup has been discontinued, but if you hurry over the Michaels you just might be able to find him still!  What are you waiting for?  All of the supplies used to make this card are available there!  You know you want to bring this little guy home with you!  How can you possibly resist those adorable Puppy Eyes?

Time for me to get outta here, friends.  Hope you're having a great day and that you'll take a little time to get inky today.  Don't forget the Stampendous and May Arts collaboration next week!  See you then!

Time Flies

Ok, I have a confession to make.  When I first saw the stamps that I used on this card, I thought to myself, "How in the world am I going to use these?  They are SO not me!"  Well, I have to tell you that I absolutely LOVE the way this card turned out!!!!  It is one of my favorites!  I love when that happens!  Sometimes you just have to take a chance, step outside your comfort zone and try something new!

I used stamps from three different Stampendous stamps.... Damask Chair Perfectly ClearCharm Collection Perfectly Clear and Time Flies Perfectly Clear sets.  I stamped the chair with VersaMark watermark in by Tsukineko and embossed it with Carnelian Embossing Powder.  The chandelier, cameo and sentiment are all stamped with Rich Cocoa ink by Tsukineko, and the whole thing is distressed with Tim Holtz's Tea Dye Distress Ink.  The lace border is self-adhesive and is from Recollections.

I made this card for Michaels' Stamptember and all of the supplies to make this card are available at Michaels...so add them all to your next shopping list!

Be sure to stop by next week for the big Stampendous and May Arts collaboration!  You don't want to miss it!

In the meantime, take time to get inky today!

Dahlia & Lone Bird

Hi friends!  Today I'm back with another card featuring some great Stampendous stamps.  This card features the Cling Jumbo DahliaLone Bird and Happy Messages.  I stamped the bird on "parchment" card stock (by Recollections) in black ink and then carefully sprinkled on Clear BarkDetail Copper and Pearl Pesto Embossing Powders and heated them from underneath.  The Cling Jumbo Dahlia is stamped with VersaMagic Purple Hydrangea ink by Tsukineko - I love the tone on tone effect.

All the products used to make this card are available at Michaels. So, what are you waiting for?  It's time to go shopping!!!

Well, that's all for me today - I have more to share, so I'll be back soon!  Hope you're having a good day and that you'll take time to get inky today!

Soft Dahlia

I just ran across this photo of a card I made some time ago, and for some reason I don't think I ever shared it.  Don't know how it fell through the cracks!  Oops!  Anyhoo.... it features the Stampendous Cling Jumbo Dahlia stamp and a sentiment from the Stampendous Encouraging Words Perfectly Clear set.  I stamped this beautiful dahlia on vellum with VersaMark ink and embossed it with Detail White Embossing Powder.  I added a bit of color with my Prismacolor Pencils and then cut the dahlia out to adhere to my card front.   The "Hope" sentiment made this the perfect card to send a friend undergoing medical treatment.

All the supplies to make this card are available at Michaels.

Well friends, it's time for me to get Kidlet #2 off to school, so I'm going to skedaddle.  I've been busy stamping so I'll have more to share with you soon!  Hope you have a great day and take time to get inky today!

Gift Hoppin'

Today we're hoppin' along sharing some great gift ideas for you.  It's never too early to start thinking about holiday gifts - or gifts for any occasion, for that matter!   At the end of this post, I'll have links for all the hop stops, please visit all the blogs and comment...we'll be choosing random bloggers to choose random comments for the prizes...so the more comments the better your chance!

For my project today, I'm sharing the bird house I made for a friend.  She collects the little humble abodes, and I wanted to make one to add to her collection.  This birdhouse was also part of MichaelsStamptember event.  All the supplies to make this project are available at Michaels.  After I painted this wooden birdhouse with a cream colored paint, I dabbed paint on my Stampendous Cling Jumbo Peony and Lone Bird stamps and stamped them directly on the birdhouse.  When the paint was dry, I added the little picket fence around it and added a few silk flowers.

I have to say I really like the way it turned out.  My youngest son, fell in love with it too, and even asked if he could keep it in his bedroom - which amazed me since he usually freaks out about the color pink (it's for girls only, you know!)  So, I think I'll be making another one of these for his room.

Here's the list of the others girls that are playing along today.  Don't forget to check them all out, and leave a little love along the way - you never know who will have prizes to give out!  You just may be a lucky winner!

AND don't forget our Saturday Challenge continues - We're sharing embossing techniques all month! Here's what we've been working on (most recent inspiration first):

You can link your creations here until Thursday, October 4th -

This week, the Design Teams at Stampendous are bringing you some beautiful inspiration for gift giving.  I've seen some great projects featured already and it's only Wednesday!  Just wait until out big Gift Blog Hop on Saturday!  You'll have your holiday gifts made in no time!

The project I have for you today is one I made for Michaels Stamptember stamping celebration which lasts all month long on the Michaels website.   I made my version of a dry erase board.  I stamped a card stock panel with Stampendous I Love Paris and the Charm Collection stamps.  I colored the flowers with Copic markers and added a bit of Spun Sugar Distress Ink around the edges.  To add my title "Things To Do" I used letter stickers from EK Success.  Pop the card stock back in the frame and VOILA you're done!  Just write your to-do list on the glass using a dry erase marker and you'll always remember those little tasks that need to get done.

recipe: Stampendous I Love ParisCharm Collection; Studio Decor 6" x 8" black frame; EK Success Mini Black Letters SR; Recollections White Card Stock; Tsukineko Tuxedo Black, London Fog inks; Copics R83, R85, YG63; Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Distress Ink; sponge dauber; dry erase marker

All the supplies used to make this project are available at Michaels.  Be sure to check out their website and their Facebook page for daily stamping inspiration this month.  Then stop by Michaels, pick up your supplies and get inky making a gift or two.

We're Wobble-Hoppin!

Welcome to the Stampendous and Action Wobble Hop!  I sure hope you've had a chance to check out all of the wonderful projects the the design team members from both companies have had to share this week.  I know I, for one, have been inspired.  If you've never heard of Action Wobbles, well then prepare to be impressed!  Sometimes a card just isn't complete until it wobbles!

Today I'm sharing a card with you that uses Action Wobbles and  the uber adorable Mermaid Kiddo from Stampendous.  I love all the new Kiddos!  They are so stinkin' cute - you have to check them out!  I had tons of fun playing with Stampendous Embossing Powders on this card.  I used Blue TinselStardust and Kaleidoscope powders to make the water and added Kaleidoscope to her fin and a bit of Vintage Lilac to her hair.  It's hard to tell in this photo, but the card base is a silver shimmer card stock and I spritzed Goosebumps Texture Spray to make the paper look "wet".  This is one of those cards that looks so much better in person - what a bummer....you'll just have to take my word for it!  ;-)

The cool thing about the Action Wobble, is it makes this little Kiddo look like she's floating in the water.  These things are just so much fun to play with.  You really ought to give it a try!

So, you know you want to give them a try.  How would you like to WIN a set of 6 Action Wobbles Springs and Cling Hula Kiddo?  All you have to do is leave comments all along the Hop and you'll have a chance to win!

PLUS.....because we're feeling generous, how about a SECOND CHANCE to win????

6 Action Wobble Springs and Tree Trim Kiddos!  How cute would it be to put that top Kiddo on an Action Wobble?!?

It's "Wobble" Week

This week the Design Team from Stampendous has teamed up with the design team from Action Wobbles.  What's that you say?  You've never heard of Action Wobbles?  Well then, you're in for a real treat!  An Action Wobble is a really fun little "spring" type sticker that is attached to an element (in this case a stamped image) and then adhered to your card or scrapbook page.  They add a fun movement to your piece of art and bring a smile to everyone's face.  My kids were so impressed when I showed them that they had to make cards too.  They thought Action Wobbles were just about the coolest thing they have ever seen!

Today I have a Christmas card to share with you.  I first stamped the Stampendous Jumbo Santa (available at Michaels), colored the jolly old man and cut him out.  I adhered an Action Wobble to the back and then attached it to my Christmas Background.  Of course Santa needed a little bling, so I added Winter Wonderland and Red Tinsel embossing powders.  Here he is....

So, would you like to win some wobbles? Visit each of the blogs below and make a comment on each. We'll choose one blogger at random, and she'll choose one commenter at random to win 6 Action Wobbles and Halloween Sprite.

Here are the ladies that are playing along today - be sure to Wobble on over to their blogs to see what they have to share with you.  Remember to comment at each stop for more chance to win.

Oops, almost forgot....while I'm here, I thought I'd share the card my 8 year old made for Gramma for her birthday.  He used Stampendous Block Art Owls and inside stamped "Owl always love you" from Stampendous. The owl on the left is attached to an Action Wobble and when it moves she looks like she's leaning in for a kiss. TJ can hardly wait to give Gramma her card!  He's so proud of himself....not only did he get to play with Mommy's stamps, he got to wobble and use my Cuttlebug!  He told me he felt like a real artist!  We had so much fun getting inky together!

Ok, now I'm leaving!  Check out the other blogs today and then come back here on Saturday when we'll be Wobble Hopping!

Hope all is well in your corner of the world - take time to get inky today!
