Welcome to Paper Inkspirations!
Hi! My name is Krissy, welcome to my blog. I have been an avid paper-crafter for many years, my addiction started with scrapbooking and has evolved to card-making. It all started when I realized that I had forgotten to buy a card for my nephew's birthday. Looking at my ever-expanding collection of scrapbook supplies, I thought I'd made a card for him. Since then, I've been hooked on card-making and my scrapbooks have been collecting dust. Someday I'll get back to them... I have two beautiful boys and a wonderful & supportive husband and I work at the Preschool at our church. When I'm not spending time with my family or making cards, I enjoy being active in our church. Life is good! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit.
Take time to get inky today....

Scrappy Bowl Sunday
Hi! Happy Scrappy Bowl Sunday! Or, as some people call it "Super Bowl Sunday". It's a big day in our house, but I thought I'd take a quick break and share a card I made today. I used the new Stampendous Taupe Color Fragments. They are so much fun to work with! If you haven't tried them, you are in for a real treat! Ready to see my card?
OK, time for me to get back to the game. In our house we celebrate Super Bowl Sunday with what we call "Snacky Dinner" - popcorn chicken, egg roll, french fries, popcorn, chips & salsa, veges & dip....all SUPER healthy (oh well, it's a holiday, right?)
Thanks for popping in - I hope you'll be back to visit soon! Take time to get inky today!
recipe: Stampendous Taupe Color Fragments, Cling Bird Post, Clear Bark Embossing Powder, Pirate Gold Embossing Powder; Recollections Spice Market Card Stock; VersaMark Ink; Darice Hemp Cord; Tea Dye Distress Ink
Stampendous Color Fragments are just that. Bits of pure color you can glue on to any surface with any adhesvie. Sprinkle into melting embossing powders for an amazing Encrusted Jewel look. Crush for smaller particles. For my card today, I stamped my image with VersaMark ink, sprinkled on Clear Bark EP and then added Taupe Color Fragments on top of the embossing powder. To keep the Color Fragments from blowing around during heat setting, hold your heat gun on the underside of your cardstock and heat to melt the embossing powder. As the EP melts, it will hold on to your color fragments. They are so much fun to work with! (but hard to photograph sometimes *sigh*)
How would you like to give them a try? I've got a jar of Taupe Color Fragments waiting for one of you! All you need to do is become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment. After the Super Bowl, I'll draw a winning comment and post it on my blog. So, be sure to check back after the game! Due to customs restrictions, US/APO/FPO winners only - sorry!
I also want to let you know that we hope you'll join us on Saturday, February 11 for our Stampendous Blog Hop featuring all of our new products! You won't want to miss it!

The first Saturday in February means it is time for a brand new challenge with Stampendous! This month we are challenging you (and ourselves) to add a little texture to your projects. Need a few ideas? You can emboss using enamels or powders, use fun flock, glass glitter, mica fragments, color fragments, or use some embossing folders. The possibilities are endless!
Here's the card that I created for today...
Ok friends, it's time for you to check out my fellow team-members' blogs and see what they've created for you. I'm sure you're in for a real treat.

And as an extra incentive for playing, one lucky person (drawn at random from all the entries) will receive this gorgeous Corset Ladies Perfectly Clear Stamp Set:
Due to shipping restrictions, the winner must have a US address. We hope you get a chance to play along with us - happy stamping! And make plans to join us next Saturday, for a fun blog hop, complete with prizes you don't want to miss. We'll be showcasing all sorts of products just released at CHA!
recipe: Stampendous Deco Lady, Taupe Color Fragments, Detail Copper EP, Detail Gold EP, Pirate Gold EP, Carnellian PEARLustre EP, Champagne PEARLustre EP; VersaMark ink pad; ivory ribbon; Tea Dye and Antique Linen Distress Inks; Recollections Spice Market Card Stock pack; Bazzill Brown Card Stock
I have to admit that when I first got this Deco Lady stamp, I wasn't so sure that I would get it inky often. Boy, was I wrong! She's so much fun to work with! I really love to emboss this image with a variety of embossing powders. I used 5 different colors on this one. This was the first time I worked with the new Stampendous Color Fragments. This time I used Taupe. It was a lot of fun to combine the Color Fragments with Champagne PEARLustre Embossing Powder. Here's a close-up of the Color Fragments
Sorry my pictures aren't the best today. Unfortunately, I've been under the weather the past few days and didn't get to my craft table until late this afternoon. By the time I had my card done, it was already getting dark, so all this sparkle was hard to photograph. *sigh*

Penny Black Snowman
What's this???? Three days in a row that I'm posting????? AMAZING! Let's hope it's a habit!
Today I wanted to show you the thank you notes I made for our family's Christmas gifts. I made a few extra and stamped other greetings so I can use them throughout the winter for birthdays or just "thinking of you" notes.
Not only does this card use one of my favorite snowman images, I also got to use my new Cuttlebug machine! I've been wanting one for years, and Mom and Dad surprised me with one for Christmas - it was, hands down, my favorite Christmas gift! I'm sure it will get a good workout on my craft table! Also, I used Copics for the first time. I definitely need a lot of work on my Copic skills! I don't have many yet, but they are fun to use.
Ok, friends, time for me to get my day started! Hope you have a great one and that you take time to get inky today!

DICC Challenge
Good morning! It's the 15th of the month, so that means it's time for another DICC challenge. This week we're using Lelia Pierce's itinerary:
1) Monochromatic
2) Stitching
3) Metal
4) Embossing
5) No Designer/Pattern Paper
6) Handmade Flower
7) Distressing
8) Sentiment
9) Up Cycle
10) Chipboard
For my card I chose to use #s 2,3,4 and 5, I needed a card for my little guy to give his buddy, Tyler, for his 6th birthday. I love this little Stampendous Fluffles Football stamp - and when I saw these "oh-so-cute" football brads and Michaels I knew I had to have them to use with Fluffles!
Be sure to head over to the Desert Island Crafters blog to see what everyone else has created.
Have a wonderful day and take time to get inky!

The bling and metallic embossing are hard to see in this photo - sorry! The larger crown in the back is stamped with VersaMark and then embossed with Stampendous Detail Silver EP. The crown in front is stamped with VersaMark on white card stock and embossed with Stampendous Amethyst PEARLustre EP. Both of the crowns have pearls and rhinestones on them and the oval behind the "Mr & Mrs" sentiment is also embossed with silver EP.
Here's my attempt at a close-up so you can get a better look at the bling. These crowns were so much fun to embellish!
